A Message from the Monarch

Greetings Prophets and ladies,

Being able to write this article while tending bar at the Grotto on a
Saturday night is great. I have the time. It is now 7:15, and I'm the only one here. Bill Lockard covered for me last Saturday and he had zero patrons as well. The good news is that it's really, really easy to count the cash drawer. How much did I spend ...  put it in.

I'm told I've closed the Grotto on all days but Fridays. Nope ... you've been listening to the wrong people again. I should do that based on the revenue being generated, but I haven't. I understand there is interest in a clabber league. Well bring'r on. Somebody want to organize a dart league? I'm game. Let's do it. I'm obviously not any good at organizing leagues, so please, somebody step on up and take the lead. I shared with the few in attendance at the last stated meeting, the disappointing revenue we've had in our restaurant and lounge, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays. So, if you're willing to help organize a function on ANY day we're open, just give me a call. My cell number is 449.1372. Do any of you belong to the River Bend or Athletic Club? Think about it.

Thank God for the back hall. It is a great money maker and Bob G. is
doing a wonderful job at getting it rented. Thanks Bob.

My thanks to Bill & Shirley Lockard, Mary Walling, Debbie Russell, Tom Land and Pam Stephens, for being faithful cooks and servers; Karen and Ben Poormokhtar for their dedication to the Grotto news and web site; Michelle Rohrer and Mary Ann Meyer for their help with mailing the Grotto News; the Auxiliary Ladies for providing desserts, as well as those of you who have been faithful in supporting our restaurant. Bill Lockard will be acting treasurer again while Jim Giolitto goes back for surgery. Remember to thank Bill and keep Jim in your prayers.

Sorry this wasn't a more upbeat message, but you should've read it BEFORE I laid it up on the mantle for a week.

God bless you all.

Yours in the Faith,
Roger A. Fuchs, Monarch 2011
